There's a mystery to the Bambara line... Our family is from Southern Italy, and is very much Italian, but 'Bambara' is not a traditional Italian name. There is a large tribe and language across Central and SE Africa with the Bambara name. Are they related? Could it be from the Carthage rule of Sicily around 700 BC?

Looking for info on all Gottsackers that came to Oregon. Parents were Joseph and Catherine Gottsacker who came from Germany/Prussia, settled in Wisconsin, lived a short time in Beloit, KS and moved to the Portland area of Oregon abt 1890. They came with at least eight children (some were adults) in tow. They lived in Multnomah, Clackamas and Marion counties. So far, all of the ones who have died have been buried in catholic cemeteries, namely Mt. Calvary in west Portland. Would appreciate any info, and would be willing to share what I have also.
