  Settled in SW Missouri from Marion County, Tennessee between the years 1842 and 1848. Rebecce, widow of Mattew Barbee with grown sons Jefferson, Calvin, James, Jeptha, and daughter Mary Elizebeth settled in Newton and Jasper County, Mo. Mary eventually moved to Boone County, Arkansas where she died. Jefferson moved to Wright County, Mo. where he died. All the others died and are buried in Newton County.

  Looking for info on my greatgrandfather, a Thomas Cox Barnes, who apparently lived in Tenneesse, and fought in the civil war. After release from POW camp, went to medical school, but, after death of wife and child (ren?), moved to Oklahoma, and started new life, new family.
