    I'm looking for some information about my grandmother who was adopted by my great-grandmother Martha ANDERSON in Alpena, MI. I was told growing up that my grandmother's last name was WELCH before she was adopted and that her vital records were burned in a fire in Alpena after being adopted. Perhaps this fire was in the orphanage where she stayed before being adopted? Here's all the information that I have, which may be helpful:

    I am seeking any BEST's or their descendants, that originally came from the Parishes in Cornwall of Helland - St Stephens in Brannel -St Dennis and St Austell. I have found some in various States of the USA and Canada, but I am particularly looking for details of a John Henry(Harry) Best and his Wife, Philipa Annie )Annie Mellow & sons Carl and Dalferd Best who are believed to have gone to British Columbia from Calumet in Michigan.

    I am trying to locate my Mom's Grandfather's heritage from Germany. At least that is what the census' has stated, that he was from Germany. His name is Frederick Bunterbart. His wife was Bertha Riese(?Reese) from Germany as well. They came over in 1862 and settled in Saginaw, Hemlock, Michigan area. He was born in 1821. They had 2 children born in Germany, ?Antoine and Martha, ages: 14, 11 in 1862. Info is all from census.
